Over the years, companies recognize its obligations to individuals and communities. With CSR being adapted, businesses are able to develop and increase awareness amongst employees on the responsibilities in corporate level with different advocacies.
Corporate Social responsibility (CSR) as defined is a strategic decision of an organization of giving back to the people who may have pulled them up in their success. It may be in the form of sponsorship to different events with causes, environmental concerns, commitment to local issues, and responsible advertising.
Webcast Technologies, Inc. (WTI) for instance is a corporate entity which recognizes social responsibility through different advocacy. Going back to track, WTI has been supporting rehabilitation to watersheds and waterways through tree-planting activities, fun runs, and feeding programs. WTI Employees have also given “gifts that keep on giving” to the cancer patients of the Philippine Children Medical Center and just recently, WTI employees donated old clothes to GMA Kapuso Foundation at GMA Network Drive, Diliman, Quezon City last April 3, 2013. Donations to GMA Kapuso Foundation are intended to be given to natural calamity and disaster victims who may need the items most.
WTI, as a corporate entity recognizes social responsibility through different advocacy, because for one, WTI is part of the community.
God loves a cheerful giver. “So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7)
