Job Overview
The Financial Analyst and General Accountant is responsible for the accurate recording and maintenance of financial transactions in the WTI Accounting System. The role involves analyzing financial data and preparing regular financial reports for management, ensuring compliance with tax and other government regulatory requirements, and supporting the Finance Manager in implementing and improving internal control processes.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. General Ledger Management & Financial Reporting
- Accurately record and maintain the company’s general ledger in accordance with Philippine Accounting Standards (PAS).
- Investigate financial discrepancies, reconcile accounts, and make necessary corrections to ensure the accuracy of financial statements.
- Prepare regular financial reports, annual budgets, and other financial reports as required.
- Review, record, and analyze cash advance liquidations.
- Develop and improve financial reports as needed to support management decision-making.
2. Tax & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax returns and other required government reports.
- Monitor compliance with applicable tax and regulatory requirements.
3. Internal Controls & Audit Support
- Work closely with the Finance Team and Finance Manager to implement and improve internal control processes.
- Coordinate with the Finance Team and external auditors during the annual financial audit.
- Provide necessary financial records and supporting documents for audit requirements.
4. Accounting System Administration
- Maintain and ensure the accuracy and reliability of the company’s accounting system.
- Manage and administer the QNE Accounting System.
- Assist in addressing accounting system-related concerns and issues.
5. Other Duties
- Represent the Finance Manager in meetings when necessary.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities related to finance, compliance, and accounting systems as assigned by the Finance Manager.
Qualifications
Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy.
- CPA certification is an advantage.
Experience
- At least two (2) years of relevant accounting experience.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of tax regulations and local government compliance (required).
- Proficient in Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of accounting systems, preferably QNE.
